About Elephant in the Corner
"Elephant in the Corner" is an English idiom for an obvious truth that is being ignored or goes unaddressed. It is based on the idea that an elephant in a room would be impossible to overlook; thus, people in the room who pretend the elephant is not there might be concerning themselves with relatively small and even irrelevant matters, compared to the looming big one.
The Young Adults within the Republican party are that Elephant in the Corner. We are the future but often times we feel overlooked and not involved in the Republican party.
A reason why I believe we are the "elephant in the corner" is that we as young adults have not taken the initiative and picked up the torch ourselves and carried it. We have sat far too long by the side lines being spoon fed by our parents who raise us one way and college professors who indoctrinate us with their beliefs. We as a group need to grow up, research things for ourselves, and stand up for what we believe.
Jonathan Martin from Politico went on FOX News and said that Republicans are "all old white fogeys", we are here to prove him and others like him wrong. This is a grassroots movement intending to pick up the torch and be the future of the Republican party.
